The problem with vested interest occurs at the municipal level as well. I'd think it'd be necessary to partition the control of electoral reform away from those least inclined to use it. Not quite sure how to go about doing that though. You might need to start smaller.

I happen to know this chart is spot on. I did an Excel Spreadsheet using the same numbers from the same website.

No question at all that the total debt goes up under Republicans. It really wasn't until Reagan showed up that the MASSIVE debts into the trillions began.

The problem is that Republicans pass tax breaks for upper income earners and corporate tax breaks and continue to spend, spend, spend, especially on the military.

Bush started 2 wars, and no war tax, instead he lowered the taxes on mainly the wealthy investors. It is a slow trickle-up economy that Reagan started, take from (in the form of taxes) the poor and middle classes so that you have an elite, wealthy crowd. Oh, and he made no attempt to pay for the Medicare Part D Drug benefit.

Funny, how Republicans passed that Drug benefit but did not require for it to be paid for.... yes, another attempt to bankrupt Medicare.

Anyhow, I hope more people wake up to these truths.

Interesting read, I especially like idea that psychic ability wouldn’t be fully developed in some people, and then not apparent in most people at all. As important as a sense as it would be, it would be easily selected for and developed.

I would think before the first 3 months excepting medical difficulties and deformities that would keep the child from surviving apart from the mother. Abortion is a last resort and really shouldn’t be a form of birth control. I have a hard time taking people seriously that claim a clump of cells is yet a human being. It may be a potential person yet every egg and sperm is a potential person.

Yea, those are some good points. I was trying to get at the birth defect/malformation issue with the "Lingering Issues" section. If the brain doesn't form or can't function, I can't consider that the same as a healthy fetus. To me, the ability to think is the essence of humanity. And if other major organs don't form, even though the brain is fine, unfortunately abortion is probably still the best option.

It’s really just a semantics argument. The term human implies so many more things than an impregnated cell does. Like I said, it’s certainly human as in homo sapiens, genetic composition etc. but it’s not a human in all the ways the word "human" has come to mean to our society. It’s not a breathing, feeling, thinking entity, it’s a homo sapiens cell that could eventually become a breathing, feeling, thinking entity.

I’m pro-choice in principal, but it’s not an option i’d use myself based on personal feelings. My moral disturbance meter reacts more as the fetus gets older, i’d draw the line somewhere between 3 months and when we think the fetus is self-sustainable. Personally I think people should get the best education and contraception available, and the option to abort in really early stages. After that, you just gotta take your responsability as a sexually active person. Exeption made ofcourse for women impregnated against their will.
